Terms of Service

By accessing or using Franz, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use Franz.

Franz is operated by Franz Health Ltd ("Franz", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms govern your use of the Franz mobile app, web application, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

You must be at least 16 years old to use Franz. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

You must create an account to use Franz. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must notify us immediately at support@franz.health if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

Franz offers a free trial followed by a paid subscription. Subscription pricing is displayed in the app before purchase.

• Free trial. New users receive a 14-day free trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
• Renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you subscribed via the App Store, cancel through your App Store account settings. If you subscribed via Google Play, cancel through your Google Play account settings. If you subscribed on the web, you can manage your subscription from your Franz account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds. Refund requests for App Store subscriptions are handled by Apple under their refund policies. Refund requests for Google Play subscriptions are handled by Google under their refund policies. For web subscriptions, contact us at support@franz.health within 14 days of a charge if you believe an error occurred.
• AI coaching limits. AI coaching features are subject to daily usage limits to maintain service quality for all subscribers. These limits are designed for normal personal use and are not a restriction on your subscription tier.

You may use Franz for your personal, non-commercial mental performance and wellbeing purposes. You agree not to:

• Use Franz for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service by automated means
• Use the Service to transmit harmful, abusive, or harassing content
• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or payment mechanisms

Franz is a personal coaching and wellbeing tool, not a medical device or healthcare service. The content provided by Franz — including AI coaching responses, check-in prompts, and technique guides — is for informational and motivational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or any medical emergency, please contact emergency services or a qualified healthcare professional immediately. In the UK, call 999. In the US, call 911 or 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline).

Do not delay seeking professional help because of anything you read or hear through Franz.

You retain ownership of the content you input into Franz (check-in notes, coaching messages, etc.). By using Franz, you grant us a limited licence to process and store your content solely to provide the Service to you.

We do not use your personal check-in data to train AI models or sell it to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Franz can optionally read health data from Apple Health (iOS) and Health Connect (Android) — including sleep duration, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, blood oxygen, and step count — to provide personalised insights and recovery guidance.

This feature is entirely optional. You must explicitly grant permission through the system permissions dialogue before Franz accesses any health data. Declining or skipping this permission has no effect on your access to the rest of the Service.

By granting health data access you authorise Franz to read the data types listed above and process them to generate your daily recovery and performance insights. We do not sell your health data to third parties and do not use it to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how health data is stored and protected.

You can revoke health data access at any time from the Health section of Franz's in-app Settings, or by withdrawing the permission directly in your device's system settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Franz; Android: Settings → Apps → Franz → Permissions). Revoking access stops any further collection; previously stored health records can be deleted by contacting us at support@franz.health or by deleting your account.

All intellectual property in the Franz Service — including the app, website, design, copy, logos, and underlying technology — is owned by or licensed to Franz Health Ltd. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use our intellectual property except as necessary to use the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Franz disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Franz Health Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Franz in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11) will continue to apply.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Franz after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
